Important Information & FAQs

Booking Requirements:

Boating License: Not required, but completing a free boater safety course is highly recommended. [Link to Boater Safety Course]

Driver Age: Must be 25+ to drive. Additional drivers (25+) must have a valid driver’s license on file and take a boater safety course.

Maximum Capacity: Each boat has a strict maximum passenger and weight capacity. All persons, including children, count towards capacity.

Alcohol: Alcohol is permitted, but DUI laws are stricter for boat drivers than on the road.

Rental Hours: All rentals to be used no earlier than 30 minutes after dusk and 30 minutes before dawn.

 

What to Bring:

Fully charged cell phone (for emergencies)

Snacks, drinks, ice

Sunscreen, towels

Water toys (or rent from us!)

Change of clothes

On-Water Experience:

Breakdowns: Call or text us; we’ll troubleshoot or arrange safe return.

Emergency: In life-threatening emergencies, call the Coast Guard or dial 911.

Gas: Renter is responsible for consumed fuel. A conservative average is about 5 gallons per hour of engine time, but varies greatly.

Operating Area: Stay between Highway 68 bridge (Ken Lake State Park, KY) and Highway 79 bridge (Paris Landing State Park, TN). Notify us if you have a desired destination outside this area.

Safety & Equipment:

Life Jackets: All required safety equipment, including life jackets, are provided.

Life Jacket Wear: Children 12 years old or younger, anyone operating/riding a PWC, and guests who are mentally/physically impaired, elderly, medicated, intoxicated, or not strong swimmers must wear a life jacket at all times.

Additional Services:

Water Toys: Absolutely! We rent single & double tubes, water skis, stand-up paddleboards, wakeboards, and more.

Fishing License: Required for fishing. Obtain one at a local bait shop, Walmart, or directly from Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.

Grills on Boat: Not allowed. Several nearby day-use areas have grills; check park restrictions for water access.
